Dear Rain,
People have always seen me as amazing in staying positive,
but recently I have lost my focus and my "to do" list has gotten out
of control. Now, I am not getting much done at all. What do you do to maintain focus and stay in
a positive and high vibration mode?
Dear Reader,
I love the confidence you have! You
are amazing and you have the capacity for positive overflow! The truth comes out through your words, so I
believe you are not far from the high vibration you are seeking.
It sounds like you might be going through a bit of overwhelm. Happens to the best of us! As far as I know, it happens to all of
us. The only difference between us is
how you handle it when it comes to you.
Think of overwhelm like a very dark and almost scary, stormy
cloud. You hear thunder, you see
lightening and it is close. You feel the
pressure of something serious building and it is coming your way!
In the
next five minutes: You might
make a lot of choices which will affect the outcome of the storm. You might be in shock, denial, and/or fear
for the first minute. You might make choices
such as; how to protect yourself, should you stay in the storm or leave it, and
should you allow fear to take over and hide or should you face the storm.
No matter what choices you make, there is always the initial
challenge accompanied with the complete loss of control over the situation. But hey, it’s only five minutes, right?
In the
next five days: The
storm is over. Amazingly, you
survived! What do you do? Well depending on your choices above you may
have large or small damages to clean up.
There may be bruises to tend to, losses to grieve, fences to mend, and
you may want to patch things up. Often,
depending on how well you acknowledge what was lost and clean up the mess, is how
well the next two choices go.
These choices are: Do
I live in the now or the past?
Living in the now means you are aware the storm is
over. You have cleaned up your messes and
you realize, even though you may have some bruises, you are okay. You take the risk to go back to your life fearless
of what new storm may come. Because you
have grieved your losses fully, you don’t hold on to the last storm. You are clear.
Living in the past means you continue to talk about the
storm as though it has just ended. You
feel the stress and burden of the storm with each retelling. You also blame yourself for not seeing it
coming. Afterall, you are a
weatherman! People ask you how you find
so many sunny days. You feel foolish and
believe you are a failure at your job. You
are afraid of the next storm, and you choose to stop moving forward.
In the
next five weeks: Time
has passed. This is where we find
the long term effects of the storm. If
you stayed in the present, you are well over the effects of the storm. You don’t even seem to remember being
afraid. You have had so much high energy
and used it to take big steps towards your goals and dreams. Life is Good!
Even if you stayed in the past for the first 5 days, at some
point during the following weeks, you have chosen to move into the
present. Your energy returns for you to
move forward! However, your scars may be
a bit deeper, and you may not have accomplished as much as you thought you
would have, if it wasn’t for that darn storm.
You may beat yourself up for making bad choices. You try to let it go and enjoy what you do
have. You find gratitude when you
remember to find it.
At whatever point you decide the storm is over is equal to
the level of energy you have expressed outward towards your dreams in
life. This is not a competition, mind
you. You are the only one playing this
game. Taking time to compare yourself with
others only continues to slow the positive outward motion. If you didn’t play as well as you would have
liked, don’t quit, keep practicing. I
promise you will get better!
I am your game coach, and I encourage you to let go of the
past, be here now! You can do it!
So how do you stay focused?
Practice!
How do you keep your vibrations high? Be
here now.
Want a good game defense? Tell yourself, “I look forward to the next time I feel overwhelm. It is a gift for me to practice my game!”
smiles and inspiration!
